heures d’ouverture : jour & nuit[...] « The Sarajevo Holiday Inn On Fire » évoque dans un premier temps un travail de Ed Ruscha (« The Los Angeles County Museum On Fire ») - on comprendra ici cette référence qui pointe vers la question de la place de l’architecture, sa place controversée, sa destruction anticipée. Par ailleurs, le « Holiday Inn » de Sarajevo revêt une fonction particulière : il est l’endroit où, au plus fort de la guerre serbo-bosniaque, se retrouve la communauté des journalistes internationaux. Cet hôtel, partiellement détruit par le feu durant le conflit, puis reconstruit, est devenu une icône ressuscitée de l’actuelle Sarajevo. Ces différents sens traversent sans aucun doute l’intention de TTrioreau. De plus, le terme même « Holiday Inn » peut devenir la source de glissements de sens. « Holiday » se traduit littéralement de l’anglais par « jour saint », et, bien sûr, la sainteté, la religion ne sont pas sans avoir jouées un rôle prépondérant durant les conflits qui ont ravagé l’ex-Yougoslavie. En français, par contre, le terme est rendu par « vacances ». On pense bien sûr aux vacances, comprises comme cessation momentanée d’une activité, mais également à la vacance qui, quant à elle, pointe vers le vide à l’image de l’expression vacance du pouvoir [...]

La galerie d’exposition de l’École supérieure des beaux-arts est transformée en une vitrine pour une maquette à l’échelle 1 (700 cm x 250 cm) d’un projet d’installation monumentale qui sera situé sur un espace privé à Vouvray, dirigé vers l’espace public de la vallée de la Loire.

opening hours: day & night[...] At first sight "The Sarajevo Holiday Inn On Fire" brings to mind the work of Ed Ruscha and "The Los Angeles County Museum On Fire". Through this implicit connection we understand the reference to architecture, its controversial nature and imminent destruction. But more precisely, during the height of the Serbo-Bosnian War the "Holiday Inn" in Sarajevo served a particular function as home to the international community of journalists. As such this "Holiday Inn", partially destroyed by fire during the conflict, and then rebuilt, became an icon, a focal point, for the resurrection of Sarajevo. This merging of different meanings is implicit in the intention of TTrioreau. But moreover, the term "Holiday Inn" suggests a subliminal meaning. "Holiday" of course comes from "holy day" in fact holiness, and religion played a leading role in the conflicts that ravaged the then Yugoslavia. Paradoxically in French, the word means, "vacation". We think of course of holidays resorts, understood as temporary cessations of activity, but also as a vacancy, a vacuum; a power vacuum [...]

The exhibition gallery of the beaux-arts de Tours is transformed into a showcase for a life-size model of a project (700 cm x 250 cm) of a future monumental installation located on a private site in Vouvray directed towards the public area of the Loire Valley.
